HOW TO EASE THE CHECKING FOR CBSE EVALUATORS (TERM- 1 EXAMINATION)

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released many circulars regarding the organization and related preparation. They have also shared a detailed circular regarding the duties of all the appointed officials for the conduction of examination.
While understanding all these information, I felt the pressing timeline (1:30p.m. to 4:30p.m.) has created a stressful situation for the evaluators. They have to complete the evaluation work in the stipulated time bracket especially when at many places the post office closes by 5p.m. In such conditions, the evaluation process should be in a very fast pace also keeping in mind zero error policy.

NOTE: - Evaluators will use red ball point pen only for all entries.

Steps that can be followed while evaluating OMR :-
STEP 1:-
After thoroughly reading the instruction page of question paper, make a small note about each section of question paper.
For example: -
Section A Total 24Q To be attempted 2
Section B Total 24Q To be attempted 20 and so on...
STEP 2:-
While distributing answer sheets, all 20/30 copies given to one evaluator should be of the same set. Evaluators must keep their unique I.D. number from the OASIS ready before evaluation.

STEP 3: -
In all the OMR sheets , the evaluators must first count the number of un-attempted questions in each section by counting the fifth circle.

CASE 1 If a child has attempted extra questions
In the first section from Q1 to Q24 if a child has attempted 22 question instead of 20, then check the 20th question with answer key whether it is right or not and put a small tick or cross on the question number only. So that later on when you check the answer sheet at a fast pace, you may not check the other two extra question and stop at the 20th.
(This is because according to the instructions of CBSE the extra questions attempted by students must not be checked. To verify you may click on the link given below and read point 14 number https://www.cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/documents//Term_I_FAQ_SUPDT.pdf )

STEP 4 :-
Now use the answer key provided and make a rhyme with 3/4 answers like a,b,d,d and check three OMR's at a time.

STEP 5:-
After finishing the checking, count the number of correct answers and write it in evaluation sheet. A template for evaluation sheet has been shared for your reference.

Download pdf of the above image evaluation sheet
Keep it handy for noting down the correct number of answers.

STEP 6:-
Put the obtained marks and your ID number and signature in the desired columns.

STEP 7:-
After finishing 4-5 copies, you can hand it over to the coordinator for re-evaluation and the rest to the observer for his signature. After the coordinator rechecks he can give those sheets also to the observer for his signature.

We have often heard, "To err is human" and all of may agree to it too but we should also remember when the error making person is holding a red pen, it may destroy the future and dreams of a child. So let's not make any mistake.

Hope it helps.
